What is ACCA?

ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) is the world's most globally recognized accounting qualification, with over 241,000 members and 541,000 students in 178 countries. It is highly valued by Big 4 firms, multinationals, and public sector organizations worldwide.

ACCA's flexible structure allows candidates to enter at different levels based on existing qualifications, with exemptions available for holders of ICAP, ICMAP, and other certifications. HM Rana Institute provides expert coaching for all ACCA papers in Urdu/Hindi.

Who Can Start ACCA — & From Where?

ACCA has three academic entry routes in Pakistan based on your most recent qualification. Whether you have passed Matric, Intermediate/O-Levels, or hold a degree — there is a clear path for you.

⚠️ Minimum Marks Requirement (Pakistan): To register for ACCA directly, you need 65% in Maths/Accounts and English, and 50% in other subjects in your 10+2 (Intermediate) exams. If you don't meet these grades, you can still join through the FIA (Foundation in Accountancy) route after Class 10.

Route 1 Matric / O-Level / 10th Passed

Entry Route

FIA — Foundation in Accountancy

7 papers | 1 year duration

Award: Diploma in Financial Accounting

Then progresses to →

Applied Skills Module (6 papers + thesis)

Marks Requirement

  • Passed Matriculation (Grade 10) with minimum 5 subjects
  • Must include English and Mathematics/Accounts
  • Start with FIA route (not direct ACCA)

Total journey:

FIA (1 yr) → ACCA Skills (1.5 yr) → Professional (1 yr) → MSc (1 yr)
~4–5 years total

HM Rana's Advice: If you've just passed Matric, start with FIA — it's the official ACCA-designed foundation route that bridges the gap and prepares you fully for ACCA papers. Our Urdu/Hindi coaching covers FIA papers too.

Route 2 Intermediate / FSc / ICS / I.Com / O-Levels (Grade 12)

Entry Point

Applied Knowledge Level

3 papers (BT, MA, FA) | 6 months

Award: ACCA Knowledge Module Certificate

Then progresses to →

Applied Skills (6 papers + OBU thesis) → Professional (4 papers) → MSc (2 papers)

Marks Requirement

  • FSc / ICS / I.Com / O-Levels passed
  • 65% in Maths/Accounts & English
  • 50% minimum in remaining subjects
  • I.Com students may get BT/MA exemptions

Total journey:

Knowledge (6m) → Skills (1.5 yr) → Professional (1 yr) → MSc (1 yr)
~3.5–4 years total

Note: If you don't meet the 65% marks requirement, you can start via the FIA route first. I.Com students who studied Principles of Accounts may qualify for exemptions from BT and MA papers — contact us to check.

Route 3 A-Levels / Graduate (B.Com, BBA, BS Accounting, BS Finance etc.)

Entry Point

Applied Knowledge Level

A-Level: enter at Knowledge level directly

Graduates: Applied Skills Level

Skip Knowledge papers with exemptions based on your degree

Exemptions Available

  • A-Levels: up to 2–3 exemptions from Knowledge papers
  • B.Com/BBA (HEC): up to 4 exemptions
